Mini Tunnel
Designed by Bob Dillon
Bob Dillon's first tunnel boat, built in 2006 and later redesigned. After the Pro Tunnel improved on it in 2009, he rebuilt the original Mini in 2011 with a deeper forward tunnel and a higher bow, liked the result and redrew the boat: the current version is a few inches shorter, gulps more air up front and has the pickle-fork bow expected on a tunnel.
At 10 ft 3 in by 70 in and about 200 lb, it is offered as a good boat for a youngster or other light driver on a 15 to 20 hp motor, though it can still take the 30 and 35 hp OMC twins used in GT Pro, and Dillon suggests it may fit Australian junior racing with 15 hp motors. Motor weight must not exceed 120 lb. Plans are printable scaled part drawings with online construction notes.
What building a Mini Tunnel actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
