Fish Hook

A minimum-building-time general purpose skiff, started with a magazine editor who shared Welsford's view of what was being sold to people who only wanted something simple to fish from. The plan was a boat that could be built in a weekend and finished off over the following week's evenings, with the drawings published across a couple of issues. The magazine was renamed and the editor left before that happened, and the design surfaced later on its own.
A 10 ft flat-bottomed skiff drawn for the shortest possible building time, taking an outboard of up to 5 hp and five adults in calm water. Weighs about 43 kg, so two people can lift it, and it rows as well as it motors.
