DH550 Charter

A 16.75 m (55 ft) charter catamaran by Dudley Dix, a custom development of the radius chine plywood and epoxy DH550 for a charter company. Each hull has two equal double guest cabins with their own heads and showers, plus a single crew cabin in the bow. The freezer and pantry move down into the port hull to allow a larger cockpit. It uses shallow cruising keels drawing 1 m, and two rigs of 1,293 or 1,435 sq ft, one with in-mast furling.
The structure and method match the DH550, and the plywood technique suits amateurs, but the size makes it a multi-year or yard undertaking. Expect roughly 12,000 hours or more. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
