Spirited 480

Designed by Spirited Designs

The Spirited 480 takes the layout and build approach of the 380 and stretches them to 14.8 m for serious long distance cruising. The extra length goes into payload, so the boat can carry the generator, air conditioning or dive compressor that make full time living easier, while slender hulls and a moderate rig keep passage speeds high; the designer quotes 14 to 16 knots under sail.

Three private queen cabins sit in the hulls, with the galley against the aft bulkhead so the cook stays in touch with saloon and cockpit. Head sail options include a screecher on the prodder, a genoa and an inner forestay storm jib, and a protected single helm pod can be fitted. As on the 380, moulded sections fit with CNC cut composite panels; the estimate is about 5,000 hours.
