A 12.07 m (39 ft 7 in) radius chine plywood cruiser racer by Dudley Dix. It combines the extended Didi 40 hull with a shorter cockpit and longer cabin for cruising comfort. The heads move aft, the forecabin grows, and one large aft cabin replaces two small ones, which suits two couples. Displacement is 4,750 kg with 717 sq ft of sail, and there are three keel depths from 1.6 to 2.25 m and two rigs. A 40cr2 variant shares the page.
Structure and method follow the Didi 38, a range Dix describes as primarily for amateur builders, and kits are available for the 40cr. Expect 5,500 to 7,500 hours as a rule of thumb. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
