Classic 10
Designed by Platt Monfort
The smallest of the three Classic designs is a full bodied 10 ft dinghy that carries a big load for its length. It is mainly a rowing and exploring boat, but it can be given a sail rig and then makes a good trainer for a beginner, or a tender for poking into new harbors while cruising. Oarlock sockets and seats can be arranged to suit who is aboard, for instance adding a second set for the bow seat.
All three Classics share the same station shapes, spaced differently for length, and owe something to the New York Whitehall. Monfort warns that this one should not be left tied at a dinghy float unattended for long periods: keep it on deck or take it home.
What building a Classic 10 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
