Fold Up
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 10 ft 1 in folding plywood garvey from Glen-L Marine that collapses into a flat 25 in by 10 in bundle for the garage wall or an SUV. The panels are hinged at the seams with a flexible fabric like an inflatable's, it unfolds in a dozen minutes, weighs about 105 lb, and takes oars, an electric motor or a 2 hp outboard on protected water.
A modest project with one unusual step, the hinge material, that is fully detailed on the plans. Budget 60 to 120 hours. Real hours from logged builds show below.
What building a Fold Up actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
