Belle Isle 23
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 23 ft classic barrelback mahogany runabout from Glen-L Marine, its largest authentic barrelback, buildable in two lengths, with husky full-length motor stringers and a half-inch bottom for ample power and load. Cold-molded wood and epoxy with no rabbets, steam bending or lofting.
Glen-L puts the modern wood-epoxy hull within the abilities of a first-time do-it-yourselfer; the finish is where the time goes. Budget 1,300 to 2,200 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a Belle Isle 23 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
