23 ft Utility Boat

Designed by Jay R. Benford

A 23 ft design from Jay Benford's catalog, drawn for plywood bottom with cold moulded topsides construction. One of the cruising sail designs, the part of the catalog that dominated the office for years and fills Cruising Designs.

Benford publishes a displacement of 3,335 lb in coastal cruising trim, which is tanks full with the crew and their stores aboard rather than a shipping weight. Plans are sold to owner-builders, and study plans are sold separately for anyone wanting to look before committing.
