Eight Ball S&G
Designed by Glen-L Marine
The stitch-and-glue version of Glen-L Marine's Eight Ball, the same 8 ft sailing and rowing pram hull built by wiring plywood panels together and bonding the seams with epoxy and tape rather than over frames. It has three watertight seat compartments, and the sailing version uses a removable daggerboard.
The easiest way to build an Eight Ball, and a fair first boat for anyone with a jigsaw and a drill. Budget 40 to 80 hours, plus the rig. Glen-L sells two stitch-and-glue kits, one with and one without materials for glassing the outside. Measured medians from logged builds are below.
What building a Eight Ball S&G actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
