L Capitan
Designed by Glen-L Marine
The L Capitan is Glen-L Marine's 17 ft 3 in finned inboard runabout from the 1957 catalog, brought back for people who remember it and want it behind a fifties muscle car; the tail sections keep the aft passengers dry. Vee-bottomed sheet plywood, direct-drive inboard for automotive conversions up to 42 in long.
A period plywood build with an inboard to install. Budget 450 to 750 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a L Capitan actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
