The L Dorado is a 13 ft finned outboard runabout from Glen-L Marine's 1957 catalog, one of its most popular designs ever, revived online for people who want the boat to trail behind a '56 Thunderbird. Vee-bottomed sheet plywood, about 260 lb, outboards to 40 hp. Glen-L publish a beam of 5 ft 8 in and a hull depth of 29 in.
They put the usual load at 1 to 4 people. The hull is a vee bottom hard chine developed for sheet plywood planking. They draw a matching trailer for her. A conventional plywood build with fifties styling to fuss over. Budget 200 to 350 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
