Arrow
Designed by Grandpa's Archive
Arrow is a 13 ft 1 in outboard runabout with a 4 ft 10 in beam, from the era when a 33 hp outboard was a big motor. The article quotes about 20 mph with 10 hp and roughly 35 mph with 33 hp, and a weight of around 450 lb, and describes her as quick, nimble and sporty.
She is plywood over sawn frames, set up upside down on a building form cut from a two by ten, with full-size paper patterns pricked through onto the stock for the stem, transom and frames. The writer recommended mahogany plywood for the deck and sides for looks, with fir, birch or gum resin-bonded plywood on the bottom, and pointed out that the form could be kept to build more than one hull. What building a Arrow actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
