Sliding Seat
Designed by Glen-L Marine
Not a boat but a rig: Glen-L Marine's plans and full-size patterns for a self-contained sliding rowing seat with adjustable clogs, a nylon-sheave seat and an aluminum track, about 59 in long and 19 lb, built from wood and ordinary hardware. It lifts out of the hull as a unit. The same drawings are included with the Sculling Skiff plans.
A weekend woodworking project for anyone comfortable with accurate cutting. Glen-L sells a hardware package with the track, sheaves, oarlocks and fastenings.
What building a Sliding Seat actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
