Passagemaker Take-Apart

The nesting version of the Passagemaker, an 11 ft 7 in Norwegian-style pram by John C. Harris of Chesapeake Light Craft, sold as plans and kits. The forward 45 in of the hull unbolts and stows inside the after 93 in, so it fits on the deck of a cruising sailboat or trawler. CLC says the interior, rowing, sailing, towing and outboard performance match the one-piece boat, at a cost of about 4 lb, for a 94 lb hull carrying 650 lb. Beam is 56 in, with lug or gunter sloop rigs.
Construction is CLC's LapStitch stitched lapstrake plywood. CLC rates it a beginner project and says to budget 110 to 120 hours for a fully fitted sailing version. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
