Joansa

After a season cruising under oars in a light dory, Welsford sold her to fund the next project and immediately missed being afloat within moments of deciding to be. Joansa was the answer, and an experiment with it: the last boat had been the familiar straight-sided dory adapted to plywood, and this one goes after the efficiency of a round-bilge shape while keeping the dory's simple construction. The name comes from his family.
A 15 ft 6 in round-sided dory drawn as a modern take on a classic type, for recreational rowing rather than fishing. Narrow at 3 ft 11 in and light at 38 kg, which is what makes a rowing boat worth getting out on the water at seven in the morning.
