Hanzeyawl
Designed by Manta Marine Design
The Hanzeyawl is a 5.9 m open sailing dinghy and daysailer that crosses a Newfoundland trap skiff with a Swedish Blekinge eka. Manta Marine Design developed it together with Bert van Baar of the Bootbouwschool, a wooden boatbuilding school in Den Helder in the Netherlands, where the first two hulls were built as part of a course; students at a woodworking and furniture college in Amsterdam have built others.
She is 1.7 m wide and built in marine plywood, with a centreboard and a sternhung rudder. Two rigs are drawn, a balanced lug cat rig or the same lug with a mizzen as a yawl, for 11 square metres of sail. The plans are supplied as PDF files with 1:1 templates for stem, transom, centreboard, rudder and building frames, plus a jig assembly drawing, and are licensed for one boat.
What building a Hanzeyawl actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.

If you are building one, yours becomes the reference: the page the next person building this boat finds when they search for it. One photo and one line is a valid first entry.
