17 ft Flat Bottom 552
Designed by Response Marine
A 17 ft by 6 ft 6 in flat-bottom work skiff with a blunt bow, developed with Brendan Stamps of One3 Powerboats as the bigger sibling of their 14 ft 7 in utility boat. The plating is quarter-inch throughout, the bottom carries external channels, and there is no cockpit deck, so water stays in the boat at rest.
The bare hull weighs about 945 lb, rising to about 1,286 lb with a 50 hp tiller outboard, and the stock list calls for around 1,465 lb of plate and 204 lb of extrusion. The package is a single-hull licence for the NC cutting files with construction drawings and lists. It is a no-nonsense hull for hauling gear, landing on a beach or working shallow water where a pointed bow is no advantage.
