RaceLine 380

Designed by Spirited Designs

An 11.7 m open catamaran built for fast downwind sailing, described by the designer as an oversized beach cat. The hulls have full bows, a flat run aft for planing and high freeboard to keep an offshore racing crew drier, and the boat can equally serve for open boat cruising at speed. Working sail area is 100 square metres on an 18 m mast.

The build is kept simple. Each hull is built right way up, with the bottom strip planked over computer cut temporary frames that serve for both hulls, and the sides come precut in one piece. The beams socket into the hulls, so the boat can be taken apart and trucked, with carbon beams offered for extra stiffness. Kits are offered in DuFLEX, plywood or plain foam.
