Skoota 36

Designed by Richard Woods

An 11 m (36 ft) power catamaran by Richard Woods of Woods Designs, offered either as a comfortable liveaboard cruiser or as a sporty day charter boat on the same semi-displacement hulls. Plans cover plywood or foam sandwich. The study plan shows 4.9 m beam, about 3.8 tonnes empty, twin 60 hp outboards, 2 m headroom and berths for five. The shell alone takes around 138 sheets of plywood and 240 kg of epoxy.

Woods warns that the few extra feet over the 28 add greatly to volume and to build time. One builder shown on the page is making his first boat. With the Skoota 28 listed at 2,000 hours minimum, expect 4,000 hours or more. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
