Synergy 38

Designed by Spirited Designs

The Synergy 38 trades some of the Spirited 380's speed for carrying capacity and the practicalities of living aboard. Sunken decks give level, protected walking surfaces from bow to stern, the cabintop extends so the cockpit can be fully screened against weather and insects, and the mainsheet lives on the cabintop to keep it out of the way. The helm is central, with a two-seat helm bench, and the rig is deliberately moderate.

Cost drove the design. She can be built in plywood with strip planked hull bottoms at the economical end, in vinyl ester for builders sensitive to epoxy, or in foam cored DuFLEX panels at the top end. Only the hull bottoms have compound curves; the rest is flat panel. Mini keels are standard, with daggerboards an option for better windward work.
