Spirited 380
Designed by Spirited Designs
The design the Spirited range is built around, an 11.7 m blue water cruising catamaran first released in 2006 and available in sport, cruising and charter versions. The brief balanced lively sailing against volume inside: three double cabins, two queens forward, a galley opening to the saloon and cockpit, and flat side decks and foredecks level with the trampolines.
The kit pairs moulded sections with flat composite panels, and more moulded parts have been added since the first release, so less fairing is needed to reach a production style finish. Light weight is meant to reduce bridgedeck slamming and suit a short-handed crew. The designer quotes 11 to 12 knots cruising under sail, twin 21 hp saildrives, and around 4,000 hours to build to a basic standard.
What building a Spirited 380 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
