Biloxi Dinghy
Designed by Vintage Projects
The Biloxi Dinghy is a small sailing dinghy from an old magazine article that opened with letters from happy owners vouching for how seaworthy it was. The page gives no dimensions, so the free plans themselves are the place to check size and sail area before committing.
The build is traditional and well explained. Three frames are made first, each with a curved lower member cut to the same radius and uprights joined to it with angle joints and gusset plates, along with the stern board and a building board marked with the frame stations. The frames go on the board upside down on a common centreline, the sides are fastened to the stem, and planking can be a few wide boards or narrower ones, with shiplap joints suggested to do away with seam battens.
What building a Biloxi Dinghy actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
