Sea Craft 25 Cabin Cruiser

Designed by Vintage Projects

Sea Craft is a vintage magazine design for a sedan cabin cruiser of 24 ft 7 in overall and 7 ft 8 in at the sheer, drawn with simple, low-cost construction in mind for inexperienced builders. The article claims the original boat was put through hard seaworthiness tests in the Second World War, when the United States Coast Guard used it to ferry senior officers between ship and shore.

The prototype ran a converted Chrysler 75 car engine and cruised at 15 knots, though any marine or converted engine of similar power is acceptable. Below is a fresh water tank, sink, stove, toilet and two bunks, with room for two more uppers to sleep four, and the cockpit is big enough to fish from. The same hull can be adapted to a sportfisher, express cruiser or utility boat. The plans are free to download.
