Gannet 25
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 24 ft 9 in planing outboard cruiser by Sam Devlin of Devlin Designing Boat Builders, built stitch and glue in plywood and epoxy. Drawn around twin outboards of 90 to 125 hp, with designer's estimates running from the mid-30s to about 40 knots, it seats a crowd for day use, sleeps a couple at anchor and goes home on a trailer at 8 ft 6 in beam. Displacement is listed at 4,350 lb.
Study plans and full construction plans are sold. A fast cabin boat of this size suits a builder with some experience and patience for fairing and systems work. As a rule of thumb, budget 1,500 to 2,500 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Gannet 25 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
