A 10.65 m (35 ft) open-deck ocean cruising catamaran by Richard Woods of Woods Designs. Deep vee hulls in sheet plywood or flat panel GRP, or round-bilge strip plank. Beam 6.1 m, about 2.5 tonnes empty and 4.2 loaded, 48 sq m of sail with a bigger rig available, 1.95 m headroom. Many home-built Miras have crossed oceans, and one was the first Woods design to sail round the world. Woods quotes trade wind runs of 175 to 200 miles a day.
With no bridgedeck cabin the structure stays simple for its length. Woods's minimum is 2,300 hours to a basic fit out ready to paint for a practised builder, so budget 3,000 to 4,500 first time. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
