Acorn 21

A 21 ft trailable sailing catamaran by British multihull designer Richard Woods, sold through Bateau and Boat Builder Central. It is a lightweight, minimalist fast cruiser with a single berth in each hull and a boom tent, 12 ft 5 in wide and about 880 lb. Boards, rudders and spars can come from a large beach cat such as a Hobie 18, and the optional racing rig is meant for experienced sailors.
Hard-chine plywood hulls with epoxy taped seams and glass sheathing outside, with a chine log as an option. Plans are metric. The designer's figure is about 300 hours to bring the hulls to the sanding and paint stage, so budget 500 to 800 hours for the whole boat. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
