Saylon 20

A 6.1 m (20 ft) trailable bridgedeck-cabin cruising catamaran designed by Richard Woods of Woods Designs, also sold by Bateau. It is meant for gentle weekend cruising in sheltered water. Unusually for the size it has a center cockpit with a double berth in an aft cabin and single berths in the hulls. Beam is 2.5 m, empty weight about 1,500 lb, draft 11 in with boards up, and sail area 215 sq ft in main and jib.
Flat plywood panels are epoxy glued over a light framework of bulkheads and battens, which the designer says one person can manage in an ordinary garage. The designer's allowance is 500 building hours to the ready-to-paint stage; budget 600 to 900. Real hours from logged builds are below.
