A 6.1 m racing trimaran from Richard Woods of Woods Designs, closer to a scaled-up Strike 15 than a stretched Strike 18. The main hull is built in 4 and 6 mm sheet plywood, while the outriggers and rig come from an F18 beach cat, a Tornado or similar. Beam 4.4 m, about 290 kg empty, 27 sq m of sail, folding outriggers for trailing, and a foredeck with just enough room for a single berth. One owner reports 16 knots.
The materials list runs to 13 sheets of plywood and 15 kg of epoxy for the main hull. Woods gives no build time. As a rule of thumb budget 300 to 500 hours, plus the work of adapting the donor cat. Real hours from logged builds are below.
