Skoota 20

A 5.9 m (19 ft 4 in) folding power catamaran designed by Richard Woods of Woods Designs, also sold by Bateau. Woods drew it for his own use as a water taxi and inter-island commuter. The central cuddy has sitting headroom and space for a double bunk or dinette. Semi-displacement asymmetric hulls set 3.85 m apart let a 25 hp outboard cruise it at 10 to 12 knots and reach about 15. The hulls fold automatically on the trailer. Empty weight is about 990 lb.
Construction is plywood over stringers and frames, sheathed in glass and epoxy, built in modules that fit an ordinary garage. The flat panels suit amateur builders. No build time is published; budget 500 to 900 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
