The firm called the Silvers the poor man's Riva when they were announced, which is a joke with a point in it: there is no attempt to match those boats for luxury, finish or elegance of line, and none at all to match their price. What the plans offer is a practical, efficient runabout that will have an elegance of its own if the builder puts in the extra time and care, and the reverse transom is where that ambition shows most clearly.
A 4.50 m runabout in the classical Italian style, drawn without any pretence of competing with the famous varnished originals and with a good deal of their look. Chine hull in plywood, and a build for somebody with experience.
