A 15 ft overnighter sloop from Glen-L Marine with the character of its larger cruisers: a double berth, room for a portable head and ice box, a deep self-bailing cockpit, and a steel-plate centerboard and wide beam for stiffness. Quarter-inch sides and three-eighths bottom, about 400 lb, and light enough to tow behind a compact car. Glen-L publish a beam of 6 ft 6 in and a draft of 12 in.
They put the usual load at 2 to 4 people. Sail area is Main - 83 sq ft. Displacement is 1124 lb. Headroom below is 37" max. The hull is a vee bottom hard chine developed for 1/4" sides and 3/8" bottom sheet plywood planking. For power they specify short or long shaft outboard motor to 7 1/2 hp. They draw a matching trailer for her. A well-documented conventional plywood build. Budget 300 to 500 hours plus rigging. Real hours and months from logged builds appear below.
