Broadwater 5.1

A 5.1 m cabin powerboat by Australian designer Mark Bowdidge of Bowdidge Marine Designs, drawn for bays and open water for fishing and family days. The 2.13 m hull has 15 degrees of deadrise at the transom, a forward cabin over 1.5 m long with room for a toilet, a self-draining cockpit and a walk-through transom. She is rated for five people and 115 to 140 hp, with 90 hp the recommended minimum, and is built in plywood sheathed with epoxy and fibreglass, with level flotation.
The 17-sheet plan set has full-size bulkhead patterns and a manual. Bowdidge says most of his builders are first-timers and declines to quote build times. As a rule of thumb, budget 600 to 1,000 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
