Godzilli 16
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 16 ft 7 in mini tug and shop launch by Sam Devlin, built stitch and glue. It was designed as the Devlin boatshop's own workboat, to run out to moorings, set crab pots and nudge larger boats onto the marine railway. A 20 hp high-thrust outboard sits in a well and tilts up, so the boat draws 14 in and can sit level on a mud berth through a big tidal range. It has a small pilothouse, a self-draining deck and 1,200 lb displacement.
Study and full construction plans are available. It is a small boat but has a pilothouse and motor well to build, so some experience helps. As a rule of thumb, budget 500 to 900 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Godzilli 16 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
