Roberts 15
Designed by Bruce Roberts-Goodson
The Roberts 15 is a 15 ft sailing dinghy with a 6 ft 2 in beam and 3 ft 6 in draft, one of the smallest boats in the Bruce Roberts catalogue. It was drawn for aluminium, and the plans come with cutting files for that, but Bruce Roberts-Goodson writes that he sees no reason the parts, and the planking in particular, could not be cut from plywood instead.
That makes it a design for a builder willing to do a little interpretation, and the designer invites anyone considering a wooden version to get in touch first. The listing gives little beyond the main dimensions. The plan packages for his sailboats include a large build-your-own-sailboat e-book and extra sheets on rigging, electrics and plumbing, and his plans carry both metric and imperial measurements.
What building a Roberts 15 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
