Mill Creek 16.5
Designed by Chesapeake Light Craft
A 16 ft 6 in stitch-and-glue recreational kayak from Chesapeake Light Craft, the large member of the Mill Creek family. Its 33 in beam and 88 in open cockpit let it be paddled as a single or a double, fitted with CLC's sailing kit, or rowed with a drop-in sliding seat. Hull weight is 62 lb and maximum payload 450 lb, enough for camping gear with the optional deck hatches. The seats slide on their mounts to trim the boat.
CLC rates it a beginner project and estimates 100 hours. The CNC-cut okoume panels are wired together, then filleted and glassed, and most builders varnish the whole boat. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.

Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
