Noank Pulling Boat

Designed by Nick Schade

An 18 ft strip-planked sliding-seat rowing boat by Nick Schade, sold as plans and a complete kit by Chesapeake Light Craft. It is an open-water shell, more compact than a racing shell but with the waterline for real speed, a slack-bilged hull and a shallow skeg that holds a course even when surfing. It is a single, meant for reasonably experienced rowers, with watertight compartments in both ends that will take camping gear. The interior is laid out for a drop-in sliding seat unit. Beam is 34 in, hull weight 54 lb, payload 325 lb.

CLC rates it advanced and estimates 200 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
