Angus Expedition Rowboat
Designed by Colin Angus
An 18 ft decked sliding-seat rowing boat by Colin Angus of Angus Rowboats, with kits cut and shipped by Chesapeake Light Craft and plans sold by Angus. The stitch-and-glue hull is 35 in wide, about 85 lb, flat bottomed, with five watertight chambers and an 880 lb payload. It was commissioned for the voyage told in the book Rowed Trip, from Scotland to Syria, and has also crossed the English Channel.
CLC lists it as intermediate. The parts count is higher than the Angus Oxford Wherry, though the guides are written with novices in mind. No build time is published; as a rule of thumb budget 120 to 200 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Angus Expedition Rowboat actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
