Bella 10 Skiff
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 9 ft 8 in rowing skiff by Sam Devlin, previously sold as the 5x10 Skiff and renamed after his black lab Bella. He drew it as the teaching boat for his stitch and glue class at the WoodenBoat School. The finished hull weighs about 52 lb, fits in a pickup bed and carries a 305 lb displacement. It is sold as plans and as the least expensive CNC-cut kit in the Devlin range.
Devlin calls this the easiest way into boatbuilding in his whole catalog, and it makes a good family project. As a rule of thumb, budget 30 to 60 hours, less from the kit. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.

Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
