Imp
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 9 ft 9 in flat-bottomed plywood rowboat from Glen-L Marine that doubles as a yacht tender, a fishing punt and a car-topper, and will plane with a 5 hp outboard. Two and a half sheets of quarter-inch plywood plank it. The hull goes together upside down over temporary forms, so the inside is clean and frame-free.
About as quick as conventional plywood construction gets; Glen-L suggests a handy person can have the hull built in a weekend, and 40 to 80 hours is a sensible total with finishing. Fiberglass and fastening kits are sold for it. Measured build times from logs are below.
What building a Imp actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
