Blue Fin 54
Designed by Sam Devlin
A long, narrow power cruiser of about 54 ft by Sam Devlin, adapted from his Blue Fin 48 to add space while keeping the easily driven hull. Devlin drew single and twin screw versions. One was built stitch and glue in Russia by Temur Rukhaya and launched in 2014 as Lucky Star. Her owner reports 7 knots on under 2 gallons an hour, about 17 knots light, and more than 8,000 nautical miles travelled.
No plans product is listed on the Devlin site, so a builder would need to contact Sam Devlin directly. A boat of this size calls for an experienced builder with help. As a rough rule of thumb, allow 8,000 hours or more. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Blue Fin 54 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
