Camarone 34
Designed by Sam Devlin
A pilothouse motorsailer by Sam Devlin measuring 33 ft 5 in on deck, drawn in 2005 for a customer planning extended passages. She displaces 17,000 lb, draws 5 ft 3 in and sets 839 sq ft of sail split into small, easily handled panels, backed by a 30 to 50 hp inboard diesel. Steering is possible from inside the pilothouse or from the cockpit, and the layout includes an L-shaped dinette, chart table, wet locker, a large head with standing shower, and a galley.
Only study plans are offered. A ballasted offshore boat of this size is work for an experienced amateur over several years. As a rule of thumb, expect 5,000 hours or more. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Camarone 34 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
