Dunlin 22 Cruiser
Designed by Sam Devlin
The cruising version of Sam Devlin's Dunlin 22, a workboat-style outboard cruiser of about 22 ft. Devlin saw that the original pilothouse boat, used for crossing the Columbia River bar to fish and then exploring upriver, would suit a trip like the Great Loop. This version gives more cabin space, including an enclosed head and a fuller galley.
Study and full construction plans are sold in imperial and metric units. Stitch and glue, with more interior joinery than the pilothouse model, so previous building experience is an advantage. Budget 1,200 to 1,800 hours as a rule of thumb. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Dunlin 22 Cruiser actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
