Sculldugery 15
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 15 ft 6 in scull boat by Sam Devlin, the latest of four scull boat models from his shop. It carries one waterfowler lying prone, who works a single oar through the transom to creep silently up on rafted ducks instead of hunting over decoys. Stitch and glue plywood, just 3 ft 2 in of beam, 6 in draft, 450 lb displacement and a rating for a 4 hp motor. The designer stresses that sculling is a patient, specialised kind of hunting. A two-person Sculldugery II 17 is also sold.
A slim decked hull with very little inside it, well suited to a first build. Budget 80 to 150 hours as a rule of thumb. Real hours from logged builds are below.
