Pirogue
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 13 ft 2 in stitch-and-glue Cajun pirogue from Glen-L Marine, the flat-bottomed, narrow marsh canoe of the Louisiana bayous, weighing about 59 lb and built from two sheets of quarter-inch plywood. It paddles or poles, and a 1 to 2 hp outboard is possible though not drawn.
Very easy and cheap; full-size patterns even mark the stitching holes. Allow 30 to 60 hours. Medians from build logs kept here are below.
What building a Pirogue actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
