RC Model X1
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A radio-controlled model cabin cruiser from Glen-L Marine, a 40 in vee-bottomed hull built by the same fold-and-stitch method as the full-size designs, from eighth-inch door-skin plywood with full-size patterns for nearly every part. Electric inline inboard with radio-controlled speed, reverse and rudder.
The bare hull comes out at about 4 lb 12 oz. Displacement is 7 lb 1 oz. The hull is a model cabin cruiser with vee bottom for radio control. Made from sheet plywood. For power they specify electric motor. Glen-L suggests it as instructive practice before a full-size stitch-and-glue boat. Allow 20 to 40 hours.
What building a RC Model X1 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
