Tryst 10

A 3 m (10 ft) trimaran by Richard Woods of Woods Designs, made by bolting two long, deep vee outriggers to the wings of his Duo sailing dinghy. Sailing beam 2.4 m, 5 sq m unstayed rig, main hull about 20 kg and each outrigger 5 kg. All the major parts come out of three sheets of 4 mm plywood and one of 6 mm. With a nesting Duo the whole boat packs into a 6 ft pickup bed.

The Duo can be built first and the outriggers added later. One owner launched six weeks after buying plans. With the Duo's rowing hull at the designer's 35 hours, budget 60 to 110 hours for the complete trimaran as a rule of thumb. Real hours from logged builds are below.
