The Albatros is the boat the firm's own book on the blue water yacht was written around, and the title is the brief: offshore cruising that can be demanding, handled by a small crew or single-handed, with draft shallow enough for small harbours and enough liveliness not to need the engine. Lodigiani calls the design philosophy moderate, meaning neither conservative nor experimental, on the view that in boats as in most things the virtue sits in the middle.
The largest boat in the catalogue at 11 m, and the one the studio wrote a book about: a blue water cruiser drawn to be built at home in strip planking. An expert build by any measure.
