Techne is a pure double-trapeze skiff and the only boat here that began at a university. It was drawn for the 1001 Vela per l'Universita contest run by Roma Tre, whose aim was to use boat building to pull students from different Italian universities together. The design balances planing ability, control, stability and friction, with the waterlines drawn to release the hull from the water as early as possible and a slight V forward. She is fast and she wants an experienced crew.
A 4.60 m double trapeze skiff by Matteo Costa, drawn for a university design contest and built as an amateur project rather than a professional one. Round hulled, stitch and glue with cold moulded work, and an experienced crew is the point of her.
