Mr. John
Designed by Glen-L Marine
Glen-L Marine's jon boat, a flat-bottomed plywood scow on one set of plans in 11 ft 9 in and 13 ft 7 in versions, for quiet water fishing under oars, pole or an outboard up to 20 hp. Quarter-inch plywood throughout, with the cutting layouts arranged so every sheet gets used.
A simple, inexpensive first build in the conventional plywood-over-frames method, with full-size frame patterns and a short instruction set. Budget roughly 80 to 150 hours. Median hours and months from build logs appear below.
What building a Mr. John actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
